As far as scoring goes, I wasn't sure what the point values were, like __ out of __ or if I was supposed to grade each of the five themes individually, so I made it one big conglomerate 10/10 scoring and gave a very brief reason why. I'm a super hard judge, sorry

Tribal Wolf Love by *Peace-Wolf 7/10 Represents theme nicely and is well done, but presentation could have been better.

Wolf Pack Contest Entry by *jmillart 5/10 Represents theme alright, showing the family aspect of pack, but presentation is poor.

Isabeau 8 by !animallover19 3/10 I like the expression, but I'm not sure it ties into the theme very well, as wolves are generally not surrounded by people petting them. Also not an extremely well taken photo.

After this, there are three more from this deviant, all of which score at about 1/10 or 2/10, due to poor presentation and lack of theme.

Father and pup by ~spicetail 8/10 Presentation isn't the greatest, but I really love the theme.

Wolf lightning by ~spicetail 9/10 Really well presented, and I love the theme of the mystique shrouding the wolf.

Night by ~spicetail 7/10 Really well presented, but theme isn't totally reflected.

Puppy Love by ~MoonStonePack 3/10 Great effort in trying to reflect the theme of the contest, but not so great presentation.

To sign up as a contestant, donor or judge, please NOTE our club and an admin will return your message.
Judges interested parties please indicate your experience meriting your assignment to be a judge. TheWolfPack admins are encouraged to participate. Judges can NOT be Contestants (duh) but may donate prizes. Non admin judges, while encouraged to participate, will require approval.
Donors open to all including contestants and judges. remember, once winners are announced, your obligated to fulfill your commitment.
contestants must be members ( or admins ) of TheWolfPack. Contestants will submit their submissions to the special Summer Contest 2010 folder. You may submit as many entries as you like though only ONE will be allowed to PLACE (the highest scoring). The others will only be judged for score. This way prize distribution is FAIR.

Theme
This year's contest theme is concerning the characteristics of the wolf.

Please pick one of the 5 below and display that quality in your contest submission.

1. self discipline, bravery and courage (being wolf in the face of danger)
2. strength in knowledge and wisdom (the intelligence of being wolf)
3. benevolence, respect and honesty in heart (the pride of being wolf)
4. honor and loyalty to the pack and self (the ability to work with others or alone)
5. the love of pack family and leadership (a wolf's strength is in his/her love)

In your contest entry comments, please indicate what quality you decided upon depicting, and then describe how you expressed that quality in your work.

Your contest theme points will be directly related this criteria.

Permitted is original artwork in traditional or digital formats. Artwork with photo-morph and or photo-manipulations can be submitted if all the photos used and work done is the work of the submitting artist. All alterations and media used must be documented correctly. (If there is interest this year, I will entertain the option of a category for photography and or literature.)

Hi, thanks to you guys for getting a replacement for the winter contest's prize. So, i wanted to help back by donating my artwork for the Summer Contest as a prize. First placing will get a fully detailed coloured character + BG from me. Second placing will get a full detailed coloured character without BG from me. Third placing will get a quick sketched + non detailed coloured character without BG from me.

For first: One full-color picture of a character of their choice with a background. For Second: A colored headshot of any character of their choice.
Third: A sketch of a character of their choice.

Judging Criteria
Each entry will be given an ID# and judged on a numeric scale 1 to 5, 1 being the lowest and five being the highest.

The categories for judging are as follows:
1- Overall Beauty
2- Skill & Technique
3- Inherent Meaning / Contest Topic Related
4- Uniqueness
5- Fulfilled Intent.
