NEW! A video has surfaced concerning cruelity to wolves in Turkey. [link] There is a petition to sign but we have never worked with this organization before. I verified the accuracy of the story by way of other sources on the net, but I don't know this organization well. I would suggest NOT filling in the optional information. If your under 18 use a different last name or a nickname. I signed the petition using The Wolf Pack so it will take anything. Always watch what information you give out on the internet! Yellowstone Wolves Update:
It would appear at this point that the Obama Administration is going to support the Bush Administration's agenda to de-list the wolves as endangered and then permit uncontrolled hunting and inevitable eradication of the wolves from the Yellowstone Park region. With the new administration on the same page as the old, I don't see any other conclusion here than say goodbye to United States wolves. 08/08/08 Soon after Alaska's Board of Game approved the killing of all wolves in an area near Cold Bay, state officials illegally killed 14 wolf pups after gunning down their mothers -- yet another grisly chapter in the Alaska’s out-of-control wolf slaughter. Here’s what happened: State wildlife agency personnel staked out a known wolf denning site -- a practice that is illegal under Alaska law -- and, using helicopters, they gunned down 14 adult wolves from the air, part of an effort to boost caribou populations in Southwest Alaska. When they landed, they found the 14 helpless pups in the nearby dens -- just weeks old -- and methodically shot each one in the head. 28 wolves gunned down in all. Click for more info.

PETA is not just for vegitarians
A few people have forwarded me information on PETA that does not paint them in a good light. I truly believe at this time that PETA is a large organization, and subject to the failings there-of. And even though they have made some bad press and some bad decisions, they still stand up for animal welfare in some important areas. And it has become evident that anti-PETA information, visa-vis the PETA kills animals campaign, is fueled by some less than animal friendly entities. There is money in dog-fighting, horse-tripping, and the like. Be smart when making decisions in supporting an organization, look into things yourself. Know that there is no perfect solutions and no perfect organizations, and improving the world is hard step by step process.
